Well here we are! Russell is now SWAT. Russell spent two weekends of his life pouring sweat into the sands of the range in Whitesburg and the carpets at Morehouse School of Medicine. The course spanned two weekends from 7am to 8pm and had the following high points. Running up a hill, down to the road, back to the range, down two flights of steps, onto the range and firing shots to qualify! Then it was on! Rain was on the agenda for all day and smoking barrels were the solution. Once back at Morehouse School of Medicine, we met Billy Jack, who demonstrated his ability to collectively beat the entire class of 25 students. It was hand to hand Billy Jack style and by no means was this a gentleman to kid around with. His theory is to end the conflict within 6 seconds. So the fights were on, kicks, knees, elbows, gouges, cuts, stabbings and beat downs. Nice.
Close quarter combat was demonstrated and trained on for the duration of the following weekend. Running around the Morehouse School of Medicine campus and clearing rooms and stairways. The last day wasn't a short day, it was the longest day. The scenarios were reality based and simunitions were flying hot and heavy. Casualties littered the room and only one medic was to be found. You guessed it...SWAT Russell!
During class, Russell was on hand to distribute band aids, anti-biotic ointments, Aspirin, Tylenol, Motrin, ace wraps, benedryl, maintained hydration for the entire class and even taught an impromtu extraction class to his team. All the while maintaining active class participation, most weight carried and in full battle rattle.
Congratulations to Russell!!!!
