Tangent Edge

Tactical Medicine Consultancy

The EMS Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center was a blast for us. Mainly because we got to run our mouths. As usual, I was at the forefront of yapping and got to see the old gang banging about pilfering goodies and buying neat gadgets. We also got a pleasant surprise or two. The first is our introduction to Kip and Doc Aaron. These two gentlemen came to Atlanta by way of some state out west of the Mississippi river and brought mats to tumble on. Rather mats to get thrown around on or cushion the impact of an errant fall. It was a two day workshop that featured how to defend yourself as an EMS responder and then get the hell out of dodge. They have an excellent concept and a VERY need to know information. They coupled this with practical application and BAM! Your ass can be saved. As I go on my walk-a-bout, searching for information and so forth, I look for three things. The first is the environment that we are to be working in. The second is operational capability and skill sets. The thrid is mindset. If you don't have all three, we tend to not listen. Kip and Doc Aaron hit on all cylinders, enough so, that I set up a special meeting for them that same week. We are looking forward to seeing them here soon as well as when we venture out to Dallas, Texas. Peruse their videos and information. Soak up the ambiance and let your inner ninja rage. I do recommend that you attend their instructor's course in Branson (info posted in the events at top of page).

Our second surprise is going to be a hat trick for myself as a speaker and Anty as a workshop instructor. So get ready for us to roll into Dallas, Texas and Maryland! The Tactical Medical Response Initiatives was introduced to conference attendies from Alaska, New Mexico, Canada, Boston, Air Force, Carolinas and a few other states that I thought were countries outside the United States (just kidding). It was really great to see these folks and I felt bad that I had to rush the last 10 minutes of the class. All in all, a great ride for us.

On Russell. Well. You know. I volunteered him as a whipping boy for the DT4EMS class. Kip took it easy on him. I wanted Russell cowed in a corner of some room afraid of the light. That didn't happen. So I was pretty bummed about that. Maybe next time... Stay tuned for the adventures of Russell

Great post! It seems I still need practice to write as fluently as you! I think Doc and I were the lucky ones. The folks we met from Tangent Edge were a class act. We had an absolute blast and it was due in large part to you guys.
