2015!

Tangent Edge will be conducting a host of new courses this year as well as bringing on new team members.  The past year was more of a recovery time to reflect and adapt to the changes and needs in the special operations and public safety medical arena.  Be watching for the new updated schedule which will be out soon.

Search and Recovery - Blake Cowart

The Dakota Dyer Foundation contacted West Georgia Weather and Tangent Edge to assist the Floyd County Search Posse (FCSP) with the search effort for Blake Cowart, of Euharlee, missing since April 3rd. On Saturday, April 14th, we performed grid searches in the woods surrounding his riverfront home, as well as combing the banks of the Etowah River. Chris Metcalfe, WGW, spotted a black tennis shoe near the river's edge in a log jam, which resulted in FCSP sending the cadaver canine over…

Congratulations MTAC Class 0413!

We had a solid group of individuals who came prepared! No drill slowed nor deterred the team. They faced swarms of killer ants covering the ground, mosquito-infested woods and the parking deck from Hell. Students moved about the city undetected and built a small fortress for cover. Great job guys!

Russell,

just a quick note to thank you for the training and experience in the Wilderness EMT class in Branson. The training was put to use on our part for the Joplin tornado incident. I know of 4 class members that were on the ground in Joplin within hours of the event. While not technically a wilderness setting, several aspects of the recent training were useful in the situation.

Thanks,

P.S.- exactly how does one go about ordering the t-shirts you spoke of?

Russell-
I can not thank you and Met enough for the great instruction we received in the MTAG class. You both are awesome. I learned a lot and seem to be putting more together everyday. I'm out hunting today and have spent most of my time reviewing the class in my head, I now understand the mistakes we made in class and at least in my head I know what to do next time. Thanks again for the great class. I value you both as instructors and Friends. Best regards - Josh Boehm

Howdy Russell,

I have just joined the site and I look forward to learning all that I can.  My goal is to learn Advanced life support, would treatment, and wilderness medicine.  I have minimal Basic Life support training and some experience as a first responder.  I look forward to learning from you and others on the site.
